Overview:
Reporting to the Billing Manager, this individual plays a critical role in supporting the firm's financial operations, including billing, collections, and accounting support for attorneys and legal staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and process client billing for the San Diego office, including invoice preparation, editing, finalization, and distribution via mail, email, and eBilling platforms.
- Regularly communicate with attorneys and staff regarding billing guidelines, client requirements, and invoice adjustments.
- Maintain billing trackers and ensure billing activity is recorded and up to date.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronic billing rejections, errors, and appeals.
- Post soft costs and daily trust/cash receipts accurately and timely.
- Provide client support on invoice and payment-related inquiries.
- Assist with credit card payment processing and collections tracking.
- Handle rush payment requests, invoice copies, and ledger summaries as needed.
- Support additional accounting projects and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting or billing experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Associate degree or completion of college-level coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook; 10-key by touch required.
- Experience with legal billing systems preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload under tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
- Clear and professional communication skills-both written and verbal.
